Re: Cannot activate roku express after hard reset

Hi @_1SKW

Thanks for bringing this to our attention.

Please be advised that the serial number consists of 12 alphanumeric characters and can be located at the back or underneath the device itself.

Once we have the information needed, we'll be able to forward it to our support team for further assistance.

All the best,
Kariza

Re: Cannot activate roku express after hard reset

My 3 roku's haven't recognized my wifi name in over a WEEEEK!!!

I'm beyond frustrated. I've done everything in my power to fix but can't figure it out.

Hope you can resolve your issue because I've given up all hope.

Re: Cannot activate roku express after hard reset

@gesalazar151-

ROKU CANNOT FIND LOCAL WIFI NETWORK
Some routers (reported from Xfinity and Cox, but there may be others) have had their 2.4 GHz wifi band turned off by a router update, leaving only the 5 GHz band operational. Devices with single band wifi radios, notably Roku Express and Premiere models (but not Express 4K models) as well as many other single band devices can not even see the 5 GHz band. The solution is to reconfigure the router and turn the 2.4 GHz band back GHz. If you don't have access to your router setup you may need to have your internet provider do it.

If this problem was not caused by a router update deactivating the 2.4 GHz band, often a restart of the router (even if other devices are still connecting) followed by a restart of the Roku will allow the connection to be reestablished. Depending on your Roku model and Roku version number you'll find the System restart option under either Settings > System or Settings > System > Power.
