My husband is in a senior residence and in his room there is a strong xfinity wifi hotspot signal. I have an xfinity account and logged into the hotspot and was easily able to make video phone calls and use the internet. I connected a Roku Express 4+ to the TV and easily connected to Xfinity. It said the signal was excellent. I said I was in a hotel room but it would not go beyond updating the sortware (error 403).
After numerous failed attempts to connect, I took the Roku home and attached it to my TV, using my Xfinity home account. No trouble getting it to work at all, so it's not the Roku. Why can I connect to a strong wireless hotspot but not update the software and get the Roku to work? I don't want to pay for a second Xfinity account where my husband is located.
