"Wifi hardware missing" error Roku Express

Hello. I have a Brand new Roku Express. Cannot see any wifi networks. No mobile hot spot, not my neighbors or any other network I see on my phone. Error message on screen is "Wifi hardware missing" Have tried resetting roku and router multiple times. Checked wifi settings per advice on Roku community. Device sees NO networks and there are a few available ones. Using an Arris Surfboard modem/router,
2.4 Ghz, b,g,n,ax, channel 11 (also tried 1 and 6), bandwidth 20.

Perhaps the device is defective? It has never seen any networks
Device SN: SOCC341U5MYF

Re: "Wifi hardware missing" error Roku Express

@maximac-

It sounds like your Express has a defective WiFi receiver. It definitely SHOULD be able to see 2.4 GHz Channel 11 with a minimum of a b/g/n connection parameters.

If you have sufficient control with your remote to go to Settings > Network > About, check  your indicated Wireless MAC address.  If it's all zeros you don't have a working WiFi receiver.

If newly purchased, you should be able to return it for a replacement.
