daily between 6:30 and 7 p.m.PST our device turns off what we are watching and reverts to home page

Most days between 6:30 and & p.m. while watching Youtube TV our device turns off and reverts to the Roku home page. We then have to reload Youtube TV. Is Roku sending a firmware update at that time? Or is it something else? Any ideas?

Roku devices don't update in the middle of streaming something, so that's not it.  I don't really have a guess other than something else that's happening during that period that's affecting your Internet connection.  Microwave ovens are known to affect 2.4GHz Wi-Fi connections, for example.  Not that that's it, but something may be happening regularly at that time.  It's a little odd that you're booted completely out of the channel/app.  That usually occurs because of a crash in the channel/app's code.

Don't have a microwave, so that's not it. No other internet connected device is affected. Very strange.
