Voice remote working intermittently

My voice remote works about 20% of the time. I have tried all troubleshooting steps: new batteries, unplug device after taking out batteries and then repairing. Nothing works. Other suggestions? Get a new one?

  4. Re-pair your voice remote to your streaming device
