My Roku voice remote stopped working. I have a Roku streaming stick 4k Model 3820CA2. the remote will not pair with the Roku device. I have tried every possible suggested troubleshooting option.
The remote is totally non-responsive. The green light never flashes/blinks when the device and remote are supposed to be in pairing mode together.
This happened to me three months ago and it took three days and hours of repeating all troubleshooting steps plus multiple factory resets before the remote miraculously started to flash green upon repair. But that was not an immediate fix. despite the green light flashing, the device never showed that the two were attempting to repair. Eventually, the prompt showed on the screen and they paired.
In the last month, i was regularly getting errors, saying that the HDMI was not connected and to check the connection. It always resolved itself. Then the volume on the Roku started turning up or down by itself and the remote would put the TV on mute. I tried to order a free HDMI extender cable too, in case of HDMI interference and when I enter my Device ID and/or Serial Number (can't remember which it asked for), it says no such number exists for that device.
Someone suggested to reset the network connection as this helped them re-pair their remote.
Using my cell phone as a remote via the Roku app, I tried this method.
Before I completed the network reset, I checked the details of my Roku account and looked up any info under the Remote heading (settings, etc). I had a message saying "Your Voice Remote is asleep. To set up TV power and volume control, switch to your Voice Remote and press OK to continue". I obviously could not do this because my remote is unresponsive. It also stated my remote was last used Apr 30th, the battery level is unknown, firmware version unknown and says my Roku remote model is RC919, but on the inside of my remote it says the model is RC-GZ1, 3026000035. Why the discrepancy?
I then used my cell as a remote via the app to do a network reset. Now I am wondering what I have done (massive failure) because the cellphone I was using to access the Roku app disconnected, and has also "forgotten my device" and will not connect to it. I now have lost my only remote source.
I tried to manually connect my cellphone to the streaming stick as suggested by the Roku app, but when I put in the complete Roku IP address it says the IP address is not associated with this device???
I now have a non-functioning Roku remote that will not pair with my roku streaming stick 4K, and no way to access my Roku streaming stick through the Roku app on my cell phone. I have done two factory resets and no positive results. My TV screen is forever on the instruction page on re-pairing with no way to do so. HDMI is connected by now the device will not connect to my network :(. It's not even searching it out.
#1. #How do I reconnect my Roku streaming stick 4k to my network again, so I can gain access to the remote feature on the Roku app again, #2 Can i re-pair my remote to my device?? HOW?? and/or #3.# Should I order a new Roku remote for my Roku device or get a new one sent? The one year warranty runs out in 6 days.
