My father-in-law recently moved in with us. He's 85 and has a hard time with the tiny Roku remote. His current Roku is a stick, so I was thinking to get him an infrared-style Roku (Express?) instead and buying a universal remote with easier to use buttons. He doesn't need a lot of buttons: He only watches Univision on YouTube TV and soccer on Peacock and his TV is HD but not 4K.
Any recommendations for a universal remote to work with Roku and my father-in-law?
I suggest the Insignia universal remote at best buy like the following:
https://www.bestbuy.com/site/insignia-3-device-universal-remote-black/6495829.p?skuId=6495829
Check the open box deals on that page for bargains. The Roku IR code for Roku that accept IR commands unlike your father's current Roku Stick, is code 3061.
