Stuck on language selection remote doesn’t connect

Hello. Just got the Roku streaming stick from Amazon. 

model 3820X2

sn: S0J732AYC5XG

 

I get stuck Choose Language Screen

 When I try to connect the remote using pressing down arrow button and home button, the green light on the left starts fleshing but remote is unresponsive still. 

tried resetting both remote and stick a few times

Firstly, congratulations on your new Roku Streaming Stick! No worries. We'll further assist you in pairing the remote to help you set up your player successfully.

Kindly follow the steps provided below to help you pair it successfully:

  1. Remove the battery cover on the back of your remote
  2. Install the new matching batteries
  3. The status light will flash to indicate your remote is in pairing mode
  4. If the status light does not flash, press and hold the pairing button for 5 seconds or until you see the status light begin to flash.
