Stick lights, remote shows pair but TV wont show Roku grid

Jump to solution

Remote has gone from bad to worse!  Roku and Vizio TV have been working just fine.  Suddenly TV stops responding.  I have been using Roku troubleshooting guides and nothing is helping, even unplugging everything for couple hours.  Currently, all I have on the TV is the TV manufacturer’s offerings.  Remote pair light will blink, I unplug power to the stick and it lights up.  However, my home button on the remote does not invoke the Roku home page and grid.  Do I need to replace the remote or maybe the streaming stick?

@chuckmiceter I have some suggestions which may or may not work.  First double check that you have the TV on the correct input for the Roku stick.   Try the Roku stick in a different HDMI input on the TV.  If those fail try a factory reset of the stick.  Depending on the stick it may have a small button or pin hole you can use to do a factory reset of the stick.
