After Roku has an automatic update, my roku screen goes black when playing any content as soon as I select the program I want to watch I can hear the sound but no picture. the Roku home screen is fine, the channel and or program selection is fine. It turns black once I click on

Sorry to hear you're running into this issue. Are you using a Roku TV or a separate Roku streaming device? Try restarting the device (or Roku TV) by unplugging it from power for a few seconds, then plugging it back in. If this is a separate Roku device, you may also want to try a different HDMI cable or HDMI port on the TV.

Do you have a separate sound system? Make sure it is set to HDMI2. Also make sure the TV is turned on. If you have a separate sound system you can be fooled into thinking you have no picture if the TV didn't turn on ... just try it...
