So I got gifted a Roku tv with no remote. So I got the replacement remote and I tried factory resetting my tv and now I can’t get my remote to get passed the Let’s get started screen?

What remote did you get?  Roku TV remotes are brand-specific and the Roku simple remote won't work with Roku TVs.

It is highly appreciated that you've reached out for support about using a replacement remote for your Roku TV and we'd be more than happy to further assist you with this.

In addition to what @renojim said, we should also consider the specific brand of your Roku TV (TCL, Hisense, Philips, etc.) as each brand has their own specific remote. It may be possible that the remote you purchased is limited to use with a specific Roku streaming device, such as Roku Express. 

We highly suggest purchasing a remote directly from the specific TV brand of your Roku TV.
