Roku in parents room not connecting to internet. Says cannot connect but will connect to extension internet, but when you click on an app says there's no connection.
Checked roku in my own room says there's no connection and won't connect says same things as parents roku did. All phones are working well with wifi. TV in living room is using wifi for YouTube no problem.
We have already tried restarting the rokue and we've reset the connections and retyped the passwords in again for the wifi and still not working.
Roku not connecting at this time. Website says they are having an update.
Hey @Selestiaaal,
Thank you for informing us!
To investigate further, could you please provide the following info?
In the meantime, try connecting to a mobile hotspot. Let's see if it works.
Thanks,
Roku Community Team
Hello there has been no change both rokus were working perfectly fine the night before.
The error message that shows up when you open an app, Netflix for example says "Netflix has encountered an error. Code: NW-2-4"
The wifi for the extension, it now asks if im at home or at school which it has never done and I've used this wifi for years. And it connects but then shows the error message I've mentioned above or in other apps that it's not connected to the internet
@SelestiaaalIts possible this is due to channel congestion and the best way to learn is using WiFi Analyzer for Android or something similar for iPhone. Once installed, open the app and see how many others are using the same channel/band. Then log into the router, disable the 'auto' feature for channel selection and choose one with less congestion. The app I mention uses stars to rate channel strength making the best choice easier.
