I am so sick of dealing with this POS. If it's not making me unplug everything because of an HDMI error, I am getting a insufficient power error. Their solution is to plug it into a wall outlet. If you want me to plug it into a wall outlet, then make the cord longer. Anyone else having these problems?
An insufficient power source will cause all kinds of strange problems. Use a USB power adapter that can supply at least 1 Amp (1000mA). There's nothing wrong with using a good old-fashioned extension cord.
That's what I'm doing. It won't reach the wall so I have it plugged into a power strip that only has one other thing plugged into it.
Great! Did it help? It's hard to predict exactly how a device without enough power will behave - I think it's roughly analogous to a human without quite enough oxygen.
If it worked I wouldn't be posting here.
Sorry, your first post made me think you were resisting plugging it in. So it's plugged in and you still get a message about insufficient power?
How would I be getting the error message if I'm not plugging it in? Yes I have plugged it in,.and yes I've been getting both error messages. I have even changed the power strip to a newer one just in case the other was faulty.
Thanks for letting us know about the confusing error message on your Roku device. We're here to help out!
Could you share your Roku's serial number? You can usually find it on the back of the device. If you can, take a picture of the TV screen showing the error and the cord.
Looking forward to hearing from you!
Thanks,
