Roku Voice Remote Pro unpairs itself & voice search doesnt work

Jump to solution

I want a new remote! I have a Roku Premiere 4620x.) I have tried and retried and tried again to get this remote to work and it still keeps UNPAIRING itself AND the voice feature no longer works even if I press the voice button!

I am very tech-saavy so I know what I'm doing. I've also read the Communityposts and comments too.

I've only had this one since January. I shouldn't have to get a brand new Roku either. Mine works just fine.

Re: Roku Voice Remote Pro unpairs itself & voice search doesnt work

Hi @gpc22425,

Welcome to the Roku Community!

Thanks for reaching out and providing the details about the issue. Sometimes, Roku remotes can get unpaired due to power issues, Wi-Fi problems, or random glitches. First, let's check that the batteries are properly inserted and there's no debris blocking the connection. Try restarting your Roku device by going to Home > Settings > System > Power and selecting the restart option.

You can also try to reboot your remote by following the steps provided:

  • If your rechargeable voice remote has a pairing button, press and hold the pairing button on the back of the remote for 20 seconds.
  • If your rechargeable voice remote does not have a pairing button, press and hold the Back and Home for 20 seconds.

In the meantime, please consider using our Roku mobile app for temporary and backup remotes. For detailed instructions, please refer to our dedicated support article: How to use the Roku mobile app.

Thanks,
Jharra
