Roku TV (onn.) won’t update

Jump to solution

Recently, streaming applications have been prompting me to update my television. I’ve tried updating multiple times, but each time I am given the error code 008.

I have tried everything. I’ve restarted my tv, unplugged the tv and plugged it back in, factory reset the tv, tried a different wifi connection; everything I’ve seen on similar discussion posts. None have worked.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi, @Lucas204

Thanks for keeping us posted.

We'd like to ask if you've already tried performing a complete restart of your Roku TV using a factory reset. To do this, we recommend checking this support article at this link: How to system restart or factory reset your Roku streaming device.

Please let us know about what you find out.

All the best,
Kash

Hi @Stabs,

Thanks for reaching out, and welcome to the Roku Community!

We see that you're trying to initiate an update on your device, and we'd like to help. Let's see if this works for you. Try connecting your device to an alternative network, like a mobile hotspot, to see if you're able to pass through the update.

If there's no luck, please let us know the Roku device serial number along with the current software version (Settings>>System>>About).

Regards,

Rey
