Roku Express 4K box - advice

Jump to solution

I bought this Roku on Amazon, and it got delivered Tuesday (23 July), and I set it up yesterday, but I can't seem to figure out how to turn it on standby when I am not using it. When I am not using it, after 20 minutes it turns it self off, but then about a couple of minutes, it turns itself back on and then repeat, and repeat, is this normal? is they anyway I can turn this on standby?

Any advice would be great, thanks.

Hi @gay_guy1986,

Thanks for posting, and welcome to the Roku Community!

We understand your concerns about your Roku device turning off and on itself after 20 minutes. Please be aware that when Auto power savings are enabled, and your compatible Roku player is idle for 20 minutes, it automatically enters a low-power mode and attempts to power off the connected TV.

You can use the following steps to disable auto power savings:

  1. Press Home on your Roku remote
  2. Scroll and select Settings
  3. Select System
  4. Select Power
  5. Select Auto power savings
  6. Uncheck the box next to after 20 minutes of no interaction

After you disable auto power savings, your Roku player will remain "awake" and ready to be used whenever your TV is powered on.

You may also reference our Support page, which shows how to disable auto power savings on your Roku streaming player.

Does this clear the concerns that you are seeing? Please keep us posted.

All the best,
Chel
