Remote pairing light keep blinking and never paired

I have done all the instructions (change batteries, unplug, reset, etc). I spent hours to read all the answers. Never works. No time for this. Purchasing a new remote (can I purchase?) will solve this problem?

Re: Remote pairing light keep blinking and never paired

@jh5555, it may not be the remote; it may be the Roku device.  What's the model number written on the Roku device and does it use the special USB cable with the Wi-Fi module embedded in it?

Model number: 43S517,  No USB attached.

FYI, I have been watching this TV for over 2 years and had no problems with this remote. While watching TV, pop up appeared saying something like "Pair Remote". I pressed paring button., then green light keep blinking and never paired. Remote works only on/off.

Re: Remote pairing light keep blinking and never paired

@jh5555, can you use the mobile app as a remote?  If so, use it and then try going through the pairing routine under Settings->Remotes & devices->Remotes.  You may have to add the remote again.

As something more simple to try, with the remote in pairing mode (green light flashing), unplug the power from the TV briefly and then turn it on once you plug it in again.  The TV may recognize the remote once it powers on.

Re: Remote pairing light keep blinking and never paired

Thank you the advice. I tried both but it doesn't work.  Green light keeps blinking.

Re: Remote pairing light keep blinking and never paired

That's too bad.  Supposedly, pressing and holding both Home and Back (the two buttons next to each other below the power button) for 20 (or is it 30?) seconds resets the remote.  Give that/them a try and try pairing it one last time.  Beyond that, I guess a new remote is about all that's left.

Does the TV use a wired or wireless connection to your network?  If it's a wireless connection and the mobile app works, it's obvious that the Wi-Fi hardware in the TV is working and that's what the remote connects to.  If it's a wired connection, it may be that the Wi-Fi hardware isn't working and a new voice remote wouldn't help.  However, It would seem like an awful coincidence that it could just fail when you tried to pair a remote that was previously working.

If you don't care about voice control, Roku makes a simple remote for TVs that's cheap, but has to be pointed at the TV (unlike a voice remote).

Re: Remote pairing light keep blinking and never paired

I tried Home and Back for 30 seconds several times, but the green light keeps blinking. Doesn't reset.

My TV is wireless connection and mobile app works. I guess I should get a new replacement.
