Remote only works when charging.  Please send replacement.

Thank you for posting in the Roku Community! We appreciate you reaching out and apologize for the delayed response.

If your Roku Voice Remote Pro is experiencing any of the following issues:

  • Will not charge
  • Only powers on when plugged into an outlet
  • Does not turn on or work
  • Not holding a charge (e.g., if the device loses charge within a day or two after being fully charged and unplugged)

Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try:

  1. Try using different power outlets, micro USB cables, and USB chargers to see if the issue persists.
  2. Reset the remote: Press and hold the Back/pairing button and Home button simultaneously for about 20 seconds.

For more detailed instructions on how to reset your remote, check out this Roku support article.

If the issue continues after trying the steps above, please send me a private message with the following details:

  • The serial number of the Roku player this remote is paired to
  • Is this the remote that came with your device? If not, please specify if this is the  Voice Remote Pro or Voice Remote Pro (2nd edition)
  • When and where did you purchase this remote?
