Receiving notification causes playback to start

If I get a notification on my Android phone while the Roku is on, it causes playback to start. The remote app does not have to be open for this to happen.

Re: Receiving notification causes playback to start

Hi @banderkat.

A warm welcome here at the Roku Community!

We appreciate you for reaching us regarding your issues with the Roku mobile app.

Before we proceed, we need to gather more information first:

  • Whenever the issue occurs, is there any error message prompted on your TV screen? If so, kindly provide us a picture/screenshot.
  • Does this happen to a specific channel?
  • What are the steps to reproduce the issue?

We're looking forward for your response. Thank you!

All the best,

Carly

Re: Receiving notification causes playback to start

Thanks for the reply, Carly!

There's no error. It happens on any channel where the current focus is on something playable, either in paused playback or sitting on a card for a video that hasn't been started yet. I've noticed this with Netflix and Apple TV, and maybe others.
