As the others have pointed out, you simply need the Roku app and install it on your iPad. One comment about your network connection: your home network needs to be using a Private IP address range (almost never a problem with most home routers) and the WiFi settings must not have a security setting enabled that blocks connected devices from seeing other devices.

That security setting usually isn't set on a home router, but if you are using a shared network in an apartment complex of some other situation like that, the security setting will be on and the app won't work. The network admins of those sort of shared networks will not disable that security setting, as it's dangerous to open a shared network in that way.
