How can I improve battery life on a Remote Pro Version 2

Any suggestions?  BTW, I really like the Quick Launch button! You have my permission 😄 to remove the Guide button.

What I have done:

  • The "always listening" feature is disabled.
  • I tend to charge the type of batteries used by ROKU, the name of which isn't permitted in this community, around 20% and stop charging around 80%. Thus, for me, I estimate 30 days (80-20) / 30 is 2%/day. (Battery lasts longer.)
  • I "slow" charge. (Battery lasts longer)
  • I can't turn off backlight. (not always needed) Other suggestions, other than not using it :D?
  • I do have 45 apps and can remove many if that helps (I don't see how) Except for "Live TV" which adds itself even without Guide being pressed.

I am estimating 45 days from an assumed new remote if fully charged which is 30-35 days for me. (My original remote with 2 AA batteries would last a bit over 30 days after ROKU reported 0%. Obviously the report of 0% was incorrect. I simply lifted one battery out for a second and it would last one to several days. Slight inconvenience = fewer batteries wasted.)

Per roku website it should be 90 days.  (but (100 - 10) / 45 at 2%.  (Remote stops working properly at 10%.)

Using Settings > Remotes & devices > Remotes > (selected current remote) > About

  1. 7/18/2024 Charged from 10% to 87% (evening)
  2. 7/20/2024 Charge was at 74% 1.5 days later (morning)
  3. 7/27/2024 Charge at 60%, 7 days later (morning)
