Cable box selection shows error message - "looking for signal, check if plugged in". Normal fix was to unplug the cable box and reconnect - this always worked. Now it does not and the error message does not disappear as it used to when the cable box was unplugged.
Have tried unplugging the cable box and the TV several times, have swapped cable box with another in my home, have swapped just the power adapter from another cable box, have changed HDMI ports, have tried 2 different new HDMI cables, have restarted the modem, did a Roku update, have done a Roku system restart then the cable box restart again. All other TV's in the house work fine and our cable connection is fine and network strength is excellent. And the cable box in question did work when hooked up to another TV.
All efforts result in the same error message noted above which as I said used to disappear when the cable box was unplugged. Cable TV worked fine in the afternoon yesterday but not in the evening. Cannot think of anything else to try. It seems like Roku now does not recognize the cable box - after 2 years?
Other then this the TV works in the other modes - Roku menu and DVD player. TV is only 2 years old and has worked fine all that time.
