I purchased a new Asus router with a Smart Connect feature. This allows me to have one SSID where the router will steer to the best band, whether 2.4 or 5 GHz. Does Smart Connect work with the Roku Ultra or will I experience streaming interruptions or buffering during a band switch?  Does Roku recommend a dedicated 5 GHz SSID?  I like the simplicity of Smart Connect if it actually works.

It will likely work just fine for you.

I personally like separate bands so I know where my connections are (ie. how many and which devices are on each band), but mesh systems (like the Smart Connect feature) are increasingly getting better at managing connected devices.

Thanks. I meant Asus ZenWiFi XT9 2 node mesh system rather than router.
