Ads on lower part of screen while not on home screen

Hi I am incredibly dissapointed and frustrated to say I just got a small ad that took up the maybe lowest sixth of the screen advertising some show and indicating to press the "*" button to get more info. This happened while I was not on the home screen, but playing a video game on my computer. Is there a way to opt out of this or not let this happen again? I will not tolerate such an intrusion, as I barely tolerate any ads playing on even the home screen of any tv I own.
