I have 2 Express devices in the same room. I don't want the remote to function on both at the same time but use 2 remotes. 1 for each device that doesn't control the other one too.
You will have to buy two wifi remotes and abandon the IR remotes included with both expresses. That's if the express isn't a 3700 express or 3710 express+. Which ONLY take IR remotes. Any express after those do accept wifi remotes once paired, and when they're paired only communicate with one roku at a time.

As @Tivoburkee intimated, determine your Roku model NUMBERS, which you can do via Roku menu path Settings > System > About on each of them.
