IPv6 Support

Hi,

Due to IPv4 address depletion (2011) ISP's currently migrate to IPv6.

I've set up an IPv6 connection to our backbone and IPv6 streaming over my Ubuntu Laptop works fine for this IPv6 radio stream

http://relayipv6.slayradio.org:8000/

On my Rocku Soundbridge this IPv6 stream doesn't start.

The IPv4 stream works fine.

With
"ip -6 neigh" (ubuntu) the Roku doesn't show up either.

So is IPv6 supported and if not what are Your plans for IPv6 support ?

Re: IPv6 Support

Hi Carlo,

welcome to the forums.

It's very unlikely that you will get a reply from Roku here, so I'll try to answer your questions.

So is IPv6 supported

No, it isn't.

and if not what are Your plans for IPv6 support ?

As the SoundBridge is EOL (please see Anthony Wood's post in this thread[/url:2eskxotn] for details) there will be no further development of the firmware.

thanks for feedback

Hi Dupondt,
Thanks for Your reply.
no chance to make the firmware open source to develop in the community ? (new kernel etc...)
otherwise we'll have to tunnel v4 over v6 then in the future to keep using the bridge Smiley Wink

Re: IPv6 Support

Carlo,

the firmware can't be made open source because major parts of the code aren't owned by Roku, but by Analog Devices, the manufacturer of the Blackfin board used in the SoundBridge.

Furthermore the SoundBridge is not Linux based, a proprietary development environment (ADI's VisualDSP) is required to build the firmware.
