Feature Request: Express+ vertical blur in composite output mode to improve image quality?

I recently purchased a Roku Express+ for use with a small Sony Trinitron CRT. While I also lament the inability to output analog SD component video, that's not the focus of my thread. I've noticed that the output of the Express+ is very "crisp" with regard to flickering interlace artifacts. Traditionally, flicker reduction has been done via a mild vertical blur, whether done via the optics of the camera, or electronically during production. My question is - can this be added to the Express+ in a future software update, or would it require a hardware fix? It would of course only be applied when composite output is active - HDMI output need not worry about this.
