Sorry, it's not possible. If you have a Roku device and not a Roku TV you can change the "Display type" to 720p and that should/may keep apps from requesting the highest bitrate streams. It's not possible to change the display type on a Roku TV. Some providers have settings on their own websites that can help. Make sure you enable "Bandwidth saver" under the Network settings and always remember to return to the Home Screen when you're finished streaming (i.e., don't just turn off the TV while a stream is playing).
