seperate roku remote so it only works on the roku, have to disconnect roku to watch regular tv

I have to disconnect my roku device to watch what is on regular tv. I need to separate the roku remote from my tv.

Your post is missing some information that might be helpful.

Do you have a Roku TV? Or do you have a TV with a Roku attached?

That will help lead to the right answer.

I’m just guessing from the description, but if pressing buttons on a TV or cable remote cause the TV to switch to the Roku input, then in your Roku, try going to:

Home -> Settings -> System -> Control other devices

And unchecking 1-touch-play.
