I have a roku streaming stick + that is powered by the external power supply and am experiencing static (snow) and audio crackles at the home screen and on any channel, until the device is rebooted - at which point it works fine. I have tried a new HDMI cable and various fixes from the forum, but the only thing that works is the reboot.
The device is 5 months old: is it worth returning it for replacement, or is there a proper fix for this?
Thanks for the post.
Can you please clarify what you mean that you replaced with a new HDMI cable if you have a Roku Streaming Stick? Did you replace a HDMI extender? If so, are you able to connect the Roku Streaming Stick directly to the TV to see if you are experiencing the issue still?
Please keep us posted. With more information we will be able to assist you further.
Thanks,
Danny
Hi Danny,
Sorry for the ambiguity. Yes, I need to use an HDMI extender because the design of the TV does not have another space to plug the roku stick in directly (it is blocked by the case design).
Thanks,
Andrew
Thanks for the clarification.
Have you tried using another HDMI port on your TV to see if that helps as well as using another HDMI extender to see if you are still experiencing the same issue?
Please keep us posted.
Thanks,
Danny
I moved the stick to another hdmi port on the TV (without changing anything else) and it has been working fine for about 2 months now.
I'm glad it works: but does it point to a fault on the first hdmi port? Is this a common issue?
THIS WORKED!! Omg! SO easy!
Indeed, and I confirm I have not seen the problem since I switched to the other port.
I would love to know the reason for this.... just to satisfy my curiosity!
