Solving playback issues

I recently moved and replugged in my roku and connected it to my WiFi and now while I'm watching shows, every 4 minutes it leaves whatever platform I'm on and goes back to the homescreen. How can I fix this?

That's odd. Very odd. 

Got a question. When you said "moved" do you mean you moved the Roku to another room? Or do you mean you changed your address? If the former, what happens if you put it back?

My roku is not playing either.  Other channels play fine.  Roku not at all.  I haven't moved as Taylor has.  Roku express has worked fine for several years.  I tried resetting, but it had no effect. I am afraid to uninstall for fear that I can't get it to re install. 

Can someone please give instructions for reinstalling? Thanks

It depends on the app. You never said what app. If the app is no longer in the Channel Store, then no. If it is, then yes. With the information you've provided, there's not much more I can say.

It has happened on Hulu and NBC and Prime Video. do you know how I can fix this?

I moved address. I moved out of college and back home, from one city to another.

@taylorlyndsay So, if I'm reading this correctly, you have a Roku device that worked just fine. Then you moved to a different address, and when you set up the Roku at the new address, the device began strange behavior. The problem is that apps -- to include Hulu, NBC, and Prime Video -- play for around four minutes and then the device returns to the Home Screen.

If that's correct, let me ask a couple of things. Which device are you using, to include the model number? Settings > System > About

Correct I moved and re set up my Roku yesterday and started watching tv and noticed after every 4 minutes it exited out of the 'app' I was watching on and went back to the home screen. 

Model - 3930X-Roku Express

That device has an IR remote. One thing we should rule out is an issue with the remote itself. If the batteries are weak, or if there is an issue with the physical remote, and it it's sending stray HOME button signals, it would return to the Home Screen.

So, are the batteries fresh?

If so, does the issue still happen if you 1) launch the app and start a video, then 2) remove the batteries from the remote.

While the batteries are out, does the issue still happen?

The batteries are from when I bought the device back in August 2020. I took the batteries out and it still sent it to the home screen. Just put new batteries in and am trying those out now to see what happens
