audio skipping problem with the AT&T app only

Did Roku fix the audio skipping problem with the AT&T app. The problem started after the June 30 2021 update.

Re: audio skipping problem with the AT&T app only

Hi @lamarrparker

Thanks for posting here in the Community!

Does the audio issue only occur within the AT&T app or to all channels installed on your Roku device? If it's just on one channel, removing then re-installing it may help. To ensure the process is successful, make sure to restart your Roku before adding the channel back in.

You can visit this Support link for detailed instructions: How do I resolve channel playback issues?

If the issue persists after the suggestions above, contact the channel provider's customer support team to report the issue and get help.

Channels on Roku are maintained by the channel developer themselves. In this case, there's likely an issue within that specific channel that needs to be addressed with an update from them.

You can reach AT&T Support here: https://www.att.com/support/contact-us/directv/

All the best,
Kariza

Re: audio skipping problem with the AT&T app only

I spoke with AT&T support.  We troubleshot the issue. I updated and re-installed the AT&T app. All the other apps work. I subscribed to YouTube TV instead of AT&T TV due too the problem. YouTube TV sucks. The audio is mono PCM (only) no (5.1 sound). The Amazon and Plex apps work fine I'm getting 5.1 sound via Roku. I purchased a Roku Ultra. I abandon the Roku stick. My Yamaha 7.2 system is useless with the YouTube TV app. The problem with the AT&T app started right after the Roku June 30th 2021 update. The update broke the Roku stereo sound.

@lamarrparker

You didnt mention your Roku model # or firmware version (Settings/System/About) or app version (highlight the app and press Options (*) on the remote).

By your own concession, no other apps suffer the issue - just AT&T TV.

The audio problem with the AT&T TV app is AT&T's to fix (not Roku's).

The AT&TV TV app is poorly coded and has longstanding issues, especially over the last year.

YTTV has PCM 2.0 (Live TV - for now) and 5.1 (On Demand - DD+) audio content.

FYI, YTTV is rolling out Live TV 5.1 right now across the US (you'll have 5.1 soon most likely).

Regardless, you need to push on AT&T support to fix this.

Finally when reinstalling you MUST follow this order:  1) Remove app 2) Restart Roku 3) Reinstall app
