We use the USB port to watch movies off a Hard drive. After a Roku OS update when playing files from the drive a loud intermittent white noise is heard over the audio. Makes watching anything unwatchable due to the sound.
This never happened till the recent roku OS update.

Whenever I try to play video off my USB the video would have weird buzzing sounds. The sound is ok on other channels like YouTube.
I am having the same issue after the 10.0 update.i am on roku ultra. I tried on multiple usb player channels beside media player some no sound some very loud white noise.
I use the USB port to watch movies off a Hard drive. After Roku OS update 10.0 when playing files from the drive a loud intermittent white noise is heard over the audio. Makes watching anything unwatchable due to the sound.
This never happened till the recent roku OS update. I saw people have been experiencing this for 2 WEEKS still no solution. Please do something roku.
I am having the exact same issue. For me, any files that were encoded in Handbrake using the Roku device template have white noise after the version 10 update. Downgrading the Roku device is the only way I have found to resolve this, but it just auto-updated to v10 again yesterday and the issue is back. I reported this to Roku support several weeks ago when version 10 was initially released, and I have to say that the "support" I received was among the worst I have ever experienced.
I have same issue here after an update occurred May 14 to 10.0.0. I have many video files on a WD video server drive on network. Many of them were converted to MP4 with Handbrake.
Those that have an AC-3 as a 2nd audio track started having the white noise. Those that don't have AC-3 and only have AAC work. Also those that have AAC and DTS as audio tracks work fine.
How did you downgrade the os?
I haven't downgraded yet. I saw another thread that there are some "secret screens" on Roku where that can be done. I haven't checked that out myself yet. One person who downgraded said they were annoyed that it re-upgraded overnight.
Yeah I tried the secret menu it just shows a update to os 10.0 even though I already am on 10.0.
