Come on roku it's been so many weeks still no solution. Give us an option to downgrade while you fix it....
Home 5x, FF 3x, RW 2x, Update software, Update now
After the original update to v10 I had 9.4 available as a downgrade option after going through those steps. Now that option is gone and its just v10 listed when I try.
Same *sigh*

It’s the Roku media player app which I use to watch videos off of a hard drive. It was working fine up to updates OS. Now when you play a file a while noise is heardover the audio. I tried the hard drive on another device and it works fine so it for sure the media player app with the OS update.
I reset the roku box but got the same result. It is easy to reproduce for me as it does it anytime I try to play movie from USB port.
i hopes this helps and can be fixed as the family uses this a lot.
Mr. BOOM
I noticed the same problem after the OS upgrade on the 15th - this is maddening. Nothing can be done about this?

You can reprocess videos through a tool like HandBrake and remove audio tracks that are AC-3 format. I did this for a couple videos and they now play fine. The drawback is that Handbrake takes on the order of an hour to process each 1 GB of data.
On my Windows 10, I have another tool called "MediaInfo" that lets me right click on a file to see what formats and codecs are in a media file. The pattern I noticed was that all my files that have AC-3 audio get the white noise. They played fine before the 10.0.0 upgrade. Those that have AAC or DTS audio tracks, without AC-3, continue to work.
Thanks for the post.
Have you tried using another USB to see if you are still experiencing the same issue?
If you are still unable to resolve the issue, please provide the serial number of your Roku device from Settings>System>About? I'll be able to assist you further from there.
