All three of my Roku TVs are doing this.
I have 2 different models of ROKU devices on separate TVs. This freezing is still going on after repeated reinstallations and refreshes and resets. I usually go watch something else and come back to the frozen show hours later, when it's miraculoulsy unfrozen. If I really want to continue the frozen program, I access YTTV by a different method, where, of course, it never freezes. It's just less conveninet to access YTTV via those different methods.
Besides freezing during one viewing session, it has a relatively new behavior of freezing if I switch TVs and ROKU devices mid-show. No fast forwarding involved -- just switching TVs and ROKUs and trying to resume the show.
Thanks for posting in the Roku Community!

"press the Home button 5 times, followed by the Back button 5 times" did not work. Multiple tries. What did work was using the microphone to say "Get Tracker ID"
Channel Build 2.22 130000084
I also had Tracker ID 19-040-695 from an earlier event.
That first program would not restart, so I went to a different program. It also froze after awhile after a fast-forward.
Tracker ID 19-040-7 49
So now I'm back in the first frozen program, which is no longer frozen.
This jumping from program to program after many minutes have passed seems to work. But it's very disruptive.
Thank you, @Zoomy, for providing your device details precisely!
We appreciate your cooperation as we work on this matter. Rest assured, we have forwarded your information to our Roku team and will update you once we have more information.
Your patience and understanding are highly appreciated.

Resubmitting issue as requested: for past 11 months Roku has been buffering and freezing sometimes. When moving either back or forward but not necessarily fast. Mostly multiple times in a row touch back or forward whichever direction is needed to move 1-5 minutes. Freezing happens multiple times every day regardless if watching scheduled programs or something we previously recorded.
Ultra model 4660x2, version 14.1.4, build 7709
We have had about six good years using this Ultra and will happily buy the new 2024 Ultra release 4850 if you think that “might” (not will) fix the issue faster than waiting another long period of time for updates? LMK.
Removed YouTube TV icon from Roku, closed everything. Then added back YTTY to Roku. YouTube TV version 2.22, build 130000084.
Also my Ultra is the only device that freezes when using Google YouTube TV listings. Using my Roku Ultra with other platforms such as Prime or Netflix is not freezing.
Also using Amazon Fire stick Max streaming device does not freeze using YouTube TV platform; thus the issue seems obviously with Roku device / YTTV together.
Thank YOU

Update: I haven't had any problems in the past few days with freezing related to forwarding or reversing the video.
This morning, however, YTTV froze when I ceased watching a program on one TV with a Roku Express and tried to resume watching the same program on a different TV with a Roku Streaming Stick +. After watching about half an hour of different programs on YTTV, I tried to resume the frozen show. Still frozen. I went to the original TV and Roku Express; frozen there as well.
I turned everything off for an hour, and it's still frozen now.
Everything that user gjcnjc reports has been happening to me for months, too, but not in the past 2-3 days.
