I suspect streaming YouTube from my iPad Mini to the TV via the Roku Stick (3800X) caused the overheating warning to pop up today. I had a queue of about 7 videos. After initiating an online chat with Roku, I was able to order an extender cable. The stick seems to be working fine now that it’s cooled off.
Later I might try repeating the YouTube scenario to see if it happens again.
I have been experiencing the exact same problem. Overheating only while watching YouTube.
Hello @Vasheed
Thanks for reaching out here in the Community!
To clarify, are you referring to YouTube or YouTube TV?

Please keep us posted.
All the best,
Kariza
I'm also experiencing overheating on my Roku Stick when using the YouTube app. I've never had a problem with it until recently, and its only happening with the YouTube app.
Thanks for the post.

Yeah, been there, done that. It was the first thing I did when it started happening. It's definitely an issue with the YouTube app itself. I can watch any other app for hours with no issues. I watch YouTube for 10-15 minutes, I get the overheating warning. It all started a few days ago when the app wouldn't load at all. I did as the support page recommended- uninstalled the app, ran the system update, and then reinstalled the app. Hasn't been right since.
Thanks for keeping in touch and for the update, @Shishkarobb.
If you are still having any overheating issues after following the troubleshooting steps previously posted. Please provide the serial number of your Roku device so we can assist further.
Thanks,
Mary
