Volume messes up & distorts where you cannot understand it but if you change the channel & change it

When going thru the Roku my volume changes & also gets distorted. I can change channels & change it back & then it is ok for a while but after a while it does it again. Please advise on what to do.

I think more information would help.  For starters: Is this a Roku media player?  A Roku TV? A Roku streambar?  What is the actual audio system?  Ie: Home audio system, sound bar, TV…

If a media player, is it connected via a simple HDMI connection or is there something more complicated going on?  What is the source?  Ie: one or more streaming applications?  Over The Air TV? I could go on and on, but if you tell us more, it could narrow the range of questions.

Off the top of my head, I don't recall a problem description like this one, but if you tell us more, someone might have some ideas.
