Whatever posts there have been in the past have either been "resolved" (possibly by buying a new Roku or buying a competitor's product), or the thread has been abandoned. Here's the error message:
The USB port on your TV will not power this Roku device.
I never, ever used the USB port on the TV. It worked great for 19 months and then just stopped. Power via USB cable to a power strip, or USB cable to power adaptor to the wall - same issue. Hard reboot, same issue. Never ever plugged into the TV, but now I can't get around the error message.
Was there ever a resolution to this? Buy new cables? Buy new Roku? Buy Apple TV or something else?
Thanks.
The power supply could be bad. Maybe the USB cable, if it is using one. You didn't say which model number is your Roku device, so I'm guessing here. Let us know which device you have and perhaps we can suggest a way to check the power supply.

Thanks DBDukes, I have a Roku Premiere. I think the cable possibility is real and am looking into either replacing the cables or the whole thing. Tx.
