Trouble watching movies from hardrive?

i have been having trouble watching certain movies that I have saved on a external hardrive on my Roku tv. Not every movie has this trouble but the video will freeze while the audio is still playing. Then when the video continues the audio and video are off by a second. Not sure if I have a setting wrong on my hardrive or if there’s a setting on my Roku tv I can change to help.  Thanks I’m advance

It could be the way you created the files. Many utilities will have presets for Roku, Apple TV, and other. I've found that Roku and Apple TV both work well when using presets. And, I don't know if this applies in your situation, but tweaking a preset means it's no longer the preset.
