Bought and hooked up the Roku Express 4k a few weeks ago and it works great on my 2007 Samsung HDTV. I haven't changed any connections since then but starting a few days ago noticed that whenever I switch on the table lamp a few feet away from the Roku and tv, they power up and the Roku home screen comes on. I'm thinking that something in the lamp switch is generating an electric pulse that the Roku or its remote takes as a Power On signal. Not really a big problem-- just not expected. Need I worry?
I replaced the coiled CFL light with an incandescent and that appears to have solved it. Thanks!
Fluorescent bulb in the table lamp? Sometimes they can interfere with infrared remotes.
