TCL Roku TVs and HBO Max are incompatible but perform perfectly

WITH BOTH MY APPLE TV & FIRESTICK ATTACHED TO BOTH TCL ROKU TV'S.

I WILL NOW EXPERIMENT AND ADD A FANCY & UNUSED ROKU ULTRA BOX TO THE TCL TV.

MY GUT FEELING IS THAT MAX WILL ALSO FEEL AT HOME THERE, TOO

LONG LIVE CLINT & LARRY DAVID, TOO

There's nothing about the TV that's incompatible if you're connecting some other device to it to watch HBO Max.  It's trying to use the channel/app on the TV itself that will become incompatible.
