Solving playback issues

Have been using this Roku3 for years with direct LAN connection to router... everything fine until now.  Just brought the Roku up and it shows a flashing 'snowstorm' screen, 1 second on, 1 second off, over and over.  Tried a power cycle, Roku boots to the wiggling Roku logo on the TV screen and white Roku LED flashes.  After a few seconds the white LED glows solid and the TV screen goes right back to the snow - black - snow - black flashing.  The Roku never gets to a menu to enter Setup.  Any ideas?

Three things to try:

1. A different HDMI cable
2. A different HDMI input on your TV
3. Unplug the power from both the TV and the Roku for several seconds and then plug them back in.

Well, thanks for that renojim.  I was just about to try what you suggested when, voila, the Roku came up normally all by itself.  I did notice that it was quite warm when in its failure mode, and now that it's back to normal it's significantly cooler.  Might be a heat issue?  Maybe I should put the Roku3 in the microwave for a minute or so to check that theory out... just kidding.
