I purchased a Roku Stick + a week ago and a few days ago it started showing a purple tint in the morning. Restarting the stick removes the purple tint generally until the next day. The roku is plugged directly into the HDMI port of the Samsung TV. On the first day we saw a low power alert purple screen from the roku. The low power warning went away when we moved the Roku stick + power from a USB port on the TV to a USB port on my modem/router.
I can I eliminate the requirement to restart the roku stick + once a day?
Purple screen sounds like a problem with the initial HDMI info exchange "handshake" between the Roku and the TV. Restarting the Roku initiates a new handshake. So does just switching the TV to a different input and back to the Roku's port - if this eliminates the purple screen it may be faster than restarting the Roku.
Have you tried powering the Roku by plugging it into your house power via the power adapter that came with it?
