Roku keeps going back to home screen

This just started happening after latest update.  While watching an old show (Coach) and when it went to commercial it would play one - two commercials and then it defaults back to the home screen. If I re-enter to continue watching it will start over replaying commercials and then do the same thing, default to the home screen. When I switched to another program (Magnum PI) it did the same thing - played 2 commercials and defaulted to the home screen.

How do I fix this issue? 

I have a Roku Express 4k+ that is only 3 months old

Can you please clarify the issue you are experiencing? What channel are you seeing this issue occur? How are you powering the Roku device? Is the device plugged into the TV USB port or is it plugged into a wall outlet?

I'll try this again.

The unit is plugged directly into the wall.

The issue only occurs when viewing programs on the Roku Channel.

When viewing a program like "Coach" or "Magnum PI", the program will play fine until the first commercial break. It will play 1-2 commercials and then switch to the home screen. When I re-enter the Roku channel to resume viewing, it will start to play 1-2 commercials again and then switch to the home screen again. As if it is stuck in a loop. This issue only recently started as I've watched episodes of the previously mentioned programs without a problem in the past.

This only occurs on the Roku Channel.

I have no such issues when viewing programs on Pluto, Filmrise, etc.

Look forward to hearing a solution to this issues.

I'm suddenly having the same issue and it's only on The Roku channel.  Please fix this!

Thanks for posting here in the Community.

Have you tried reinstalling the channel to see if that helps? If you haven't tried the suggested order (remove > restart > re-install), we suggest giving it a shot once again.

I too am having a problem with the Roku channel frequently going back to the home screen.  The problem has just started and doesn't happen on any other channel.  Really needs to be fixed as this is the channel we watch the most.

Wed Nov 4th, 2021   plain ROKU, about 7pm tonight about every five minutes, watching free Movie, under Featured, kicks back to ROKU HOME, and when I start all over again, get up to three sets of commercials, and then back to the HOME screen!   AND, I cannot contact or submit an email to anyone!  I need my ROKU for any and all info.  PLEASE HELP.   Was working fine until tonight, several years.
