Roku issues - do I just need to get a new one?

I apologize I wasn't sure where to post this question because it's kind of a general issue and didn't really fit in any of the boards.

I have had my roku streaming stick for about 4 years, it's the Roku Streaming Stick (3800 series) and it has been very glitchy for months. It isn't specific to an app (although Netflix is usually the worst), it just will freeze up, the audio will stop working or come in and out, the remote will be momentarily unresponsive, apps will take a long time to open and close, various things like that. It's not bad enough yet that I can't use it at all, but I don't know if it'll keep getting worse. I don't know if it's the kind of thing where eventually you should just get a new one, I have liked roku so I am okay doing that if the newer versions work better. I've tried resetting everything, batteries are new, internet works fine.

If you're using your TV's USB port for power, try using the supplied power adapter or vice versa.  If you have a USB power adapter (charger) for a phone or tablet lying around try that.  Somewhere on the adapter it should state something like:  Output 5VDC, 1A.  They're all 5 Volts, but If it's less then 1A (like 500mA) it's not good enough.  If it's more than 1A then all the better.

How long since you restarted your Roku?

These things are just little special purpose computers. Like their big brothers sometimes clearing things out by restarting them is all they need.

Restart via Settings > System > System restart (for Roku TV: Settings > System > Power > System restart).

If a restart doesn't do it, try pulling the power plug to the device for a minute or so then plugging it back in.
