I have a Phillips Roku TV and 2 Roku streaming sticks. Whenever the Roku TV is on, I'm unable to stream on either of the 2 Roku sticks. The video on the streaming sticks just keeps buffering. When the TV is turned off the streaming sticks work fine. I should be capable of using more than 1 device at a time. What is the problem.
Can't say I've ever seen something like that. I have multiple Roku devices, both TVs and players. There's never been any issue with any streaming while something else is on. I'm watching my Ultra 4800 right now, streaming from my DLNA server. I know at least one Roku TV is turned on right now, being used as a computer monitor. But they're all connected to the network.
Just a guess on my part, but it sounds like you have some sort of network issue that's only allowing one device at a time to connect. I've heard of some cable modems that only permitted a single connection.
I don't know if that's the case. Right now, I'm watching Netflix on one Roku 3800X stick and Spectrum TV on the other. Both are working fine with no buffering.
I forgot to add that the 2 Roku streaming sticks both work at the same time when the Roku TV is off, but not when the TV is on.
Well, I have a bad history with Philips TVs from about 25 years ago, so I've never touched one since.
I can't think of a single technical reason for that to happen. My Roku TVs are Sharp and Insignia, with no issues when either/both are in use. I'm still inclined to think there's something amiss with your network, but for the life of me I can't think of what it might be.
Could there be some setting in my Phillips TV setup that's preventing the other devices from working?
While I have extensive experience with computers and networking, again I know nothing about Philips TVs. But I can't think of anything I've ever seen that would cause that.
