Roku device...Samsung tv....freezes on Roku home screen
tried on 2nd tv........still freezes on Roku home screen...Yes checked batterys
@Anonymous, it would help to know the model number of your Roku device written on it somewhere and whether or not your remote has a button on the back or inside the battery compartment. If it does, it requires pairing. If it doesn't, point the remote at a digital camera like the one in your phone and press a button on the remote. You should see a flash of light on the camera screen.
You can also try using the Roku app on your phone or tablet as a remote.
well....another day at trying to get my Roku device to work. My son at another location is not getting any results either. No paring button on device Roku Model #RC-AL1R on remote. Got it finally to get screen that requested Language preference...but still frozen to move from there.
So to furthur...no flash on camera..new batteries..tried other HDMI port...tried on second TV in the house..same problem. It has been admitted that there are Roku problems but not resolved on this end. Have spent too many hours without service...too many hours trouble shooting and no access to any voice person to talk to. Not going to do any more research or web surfing. REALLY...I get a badge!!!!!!How childish!!! I am 70 years old....not 8. Fuming!!
@Anonymous Have you tried to do a factory reset of the device? What device do you have?
Have done reset on device with paperclip....Model RC-AL1R

That's the remote model number. We're asking for the Roku device model number. At minimum the device name, such as Express, Premiere, Streaming Stick, etc. What does the box say? The box will also list the specific model number.
