My Roku was working fine, but then randomly decided to change to a 4:3 aspect ratio. My TV is still displaying everything else as 16:9, except for the Roku. I cant seem to make it change back to the proper aspect ratio.
I've tried:
Switching HDMI ports
Flipping the HDMI cable
Using a different HDMI cable
Turning both the TV and Roku off, waiting a bit, then turning them both on
Doing a full factory reset on my Roku
It will work on my 4k Roku TV, but not the 1080 TV I had been using it on for the past three months.
Nothing seems to be working. Am I just going to have to replace the Roku? I just got the Roku back in April and it's been working fine. Will Roku give me a free replacement, seeing as it is so new?
Any help is appreciated.
It kinda sounds like your TV ratio might be set incorrectly. Do you have anything else you can connect to that TV to check?
Do you have the original TV remote? Are you using it at all? They often have one-touch settings for adjusting the screen.

This doesn't seem to be the case. It's set up as 1080p HD 16:9. It's only the Roku on this TV that's having this issue. Other inputs are fine. Tried switching the Roku to different HDMI ports and it didn't help.
Not using the original tv remote anymore. I have a GE universal. Tried every which way of changing the aspect ratio on the TV both with the remote (pressed every button) and on the TV's physical buttons. Just seems to be a Roku problem.
What Roku model and software version?
