After about 2 minutes watching Netflix my Roku Ultra starts to fast forward through whatever show i'm watching. I thought a quick reboot of the box would fix it but the problem persists.
After rebooting i figured it must be an issue with the remote so i started an episode and took the batteries out. Unfortunately after a minute or two it started fast forwarding through the episode again.
Any ideas on how i can fix this?
Assuming you only experience this with NetFlix, try reinstalling:
1) Remove the NF app (Highlight the app, press the Options (*) button on the remote, then Remove)
2) RESTART the Roku (Settings/System/System restart/Restart) <-- MUST DO THIS HERE!!!
3) Re-install the NF app
(Otherwise, if you dont restart settings/cached data associated with the app are left behind and it wont be a clean re-install)
Now it appears to be randomly happening anywhere. Tried a factory reset and that didn't fix it.
If this is happening in all apps, even after a factory reset, I'd return/exchange it with the retailer/seller.
One other thing to try - put a box over the Ultra so there's no chance of any stray IR signals getting to it.
