Hi Purchased 3 months back Roku Ultra HD 4K/ Media player, and connected with my home theater set up Yamaha TSR 700 AV player. I found continuously Roku freezes and crashes while Im playing 2160p HD movies played from netflix, Amazon, etc. SW is up to date. Looking for help, what is the solution, can someone recommend.
I've had a similar experience with one of my Ultra devices. Problem is Roku has horrible support. After 7 months they said they would replace my device. I returned defective device and according to the email, they would send the replacement device within 1 day of receipt. Well that was almost 2 weeks ago and nothing. I've done some digging and Roku has questionable quality with devices and doesn't stand behind their products. So at the end of the day you'll probably have to purchase another one!
Thank You for the swift response. Much appreciated
What's the model number from Settings->System->About? Is it a 4800X? At least one user has reported that his 4800X appears to be overheating. Does yours seem to be hot?
Device Details -Model - 4800X-Roku Ultra.
I don't use Model - 4800X-Roku Ultra regularly, except weekends for my media room.
I have another Roku Model 4200X-Roku3, other models, which runs almost 12 hrs a day 24x7. I never had any issues with these models.
What is your Internet download speed? I haven't noticed any issues with 4K/HDR/Dolby Vision with my 4800. I'm playing through a Yamaha AVR into an LG Nano85 TV with no issues.
Is your Ultra in any sort of enclosed space? I have mine out in the open sitting on top of a PC case. The computer doesn't vent out the top, so no added heat there.
I have one gig fiber internet connection. Roku is not in enclosed space.

Man, I wish... 😄
Roku support team responded that they will send the replacement for Roku Ultra 4800X model. Lets see.
But one fundamental question, is Roku Ultra 4K ready? I see similar issues that Im experiencing, many Roku customers have complained.
I will wait to see how soon they will send free replacement and shipping at their own expense.
I have Sony blu Ray player, I don't have issue with it streaming 4K.
The Ultra 4800 is 4K/HDR/Dolby Vision capable. I have been using mine to watch some 4K/DV content on Disney+ the past few days without issue. A couple of times an HDCP error message popped up, but went away within a couple of seconds, and playback never stopped.
